Aim: Low sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) is accompanied with onset of diabetes (DM) and increased cardiovascular risk (CVR). Proinflammatory cytokines, including adiponectin (APN) influence SHBG production. Lipid accumulation product (LAP) advocates as an indicator of increased CVR.
